Selin Yılmaz, our vice president for external relations and representative of the Women, Peace, and Security Working Group of the Atlantic Treaty Association, attended a meeting today with Ms. Clare Hutchinson, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace, and Security. The meeting took place online and other working group representatives and interested ATA-YATA members also attended. During the meeting, Ms. Hutchinson said that the protection of women in peace and security will not only focus on the prevention of sexual assaults but also on human rights aspects and increasing the active participation of women in the security field. NATO Secretary-General Mr. Tacan İldem stated that he believes that our efforts and support will make a difference in this area and that next year we will measure how far we have come with concrete data.
